About Me

Welcome to my website!I'm Emmanuel, a Chicago-based webcomic creator, illustrator, and character designer with a passion for sharing my work with the world. In case my art didn't give it away, I'm a born creator. My biggest influence is the culture of Nigeria, where my family comes from, but also by the television shows, movies, and video games that I've grown to love.I've been creating for years, and always strive to improve. It wasn't until after I graduated high school, however, that I began to take art more seriously, but I've always been told I have quite the creative streak, and I'm certain it shows. My best-known specialty, of course, is my comics, which go back to my days of ingesting as much Captain Underpants and Calvin and Hobbes as possible as a kid, but I also do plenty of single illustrations, and have even joined a few reanimation collabs. My current projects include the webcomic Skeeter!, about a robot who winds up in one wild situation after the other; upcoming projects include two Skeeter! spinoffs - Henry the Mole, which I intend to write as a novel; and another, as-of-yet untitled spinoff starring Rico Sharp, a minor character in Skeeter!. I originally started drawing Skeeter! in high school and ended it in my last year of community college, but I recently started a new version, having learned a great deal about making comics during my years at Columbia. My work places a lot of emphasis on diversity and everybody's uniqueness, and I hope represent a wide range of character traits. I'm strongly confident in my abilities and I hope to make my mark in the illustration world. You can follow me on Instagram and Bluesky - I'm @mannysmyname on both sites. You can also check out my linktree for other places you can find me or my work. I hope you enjoy it!
